Frequently asked questions

FAQ: 2026 tax return in Geneva

What is the withholding-tax correction (DRIS)?

It's a request that corrects the scale applied and lets you claim deductions not accounted for by the monthly deduction.

What is the subsequent ordinary assessment (TOU)?

The TOU lets you, under conditions (particularly for quasi-residents), be taxed as an ordinary resident and deduct all your expenses.

Quelle est la date limite ?

The request must in principle be filed by 31 March 2027 for the income concerned. It's a strict deadline not to miss.

Can I really recover money?

Often, yes. If you have a 3rd pillar, childcare costs, LPP buy-backs or other deductions, a correction can reduce your tax.
