How much subsidy am I entitled to in Geneva?

The amount you are entitled to depends on three things: your unified determining income (RDU), your family situation and your age. The canton places you in one of 9 income groups; the lower the group, the higher the subsidy (up to CHF 348/month for an adult). The calculator above applies the 2026 scale in figures to your situation.

How our calculator works

In a few questions (residence, family situation, age, number of children, status, income) the tool determines your RDU group and adds up the subsidies of each household member. The result is an indicative estimate: your official RDU is set by the administration, and only the SAM decides on the grant.

Subsidy calculation: your questions

Enter your situation (residence, household, age, children, status) and an estimate of your annual income. The calculator determines your RDU group and shows an estimate of your monthly subsidy based on the 2026 scale.
It is an indicative estimate. Your official RDU is based on your tax assessment, and only the SAM decides the final amount and the grant.
The unified determining income is the basis for calculating the subsidy. It is based on your latest tax assessment plus a fraction of your wealth. It is not exactly your gross salary.
With little or no income, a young adult born between 2001 and 2007 is usually in the first groups and may receive CHF 231/month. The application must be renewed every year.
